Mitte März war es soweit – 24 Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner des bisherigen Wohnhauses in der Beethovenstraße in Kehl konnten in den Ersatzneubau in der Kanzmattstraße 6a in Kehl umziehen. Die vier Wohngruppen sind inzwischen komplett eingerichtet und sowohl die Bewohner als auch die Mitarbeitende fühlen sich in den neuen Räumlichkeiten sehr wohl. Mit dem Umzug ist ein weiteres großes Ziel zur Verbesserung der Wohnqualität für die Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner der Diakonie Kork erreicht.
Zur Umsetzung des Masterplans Wohnen der Landesheimbauverordnung wurden seit 2008 insgesamt 200 Wohnplätze für erwachsene Menschen mit Behinderung neu gebaut, davon 176 dezentral in den umliegenden Ortschaften.
